Fun in the City

some beautiful sempervivums available at Gardenhood
We made a quick trip into Decatur today for a few specialty items for the wedding this Saturday. I was happy to find a wonderful selection of cheeses at the Dekalb Farmers Market available in whole wheels. It will make a deliciously wonderful presentation of cheeses for the reception. I always like to include some fun stops when running errands in the city and today, we stopped by GardenHood, the coolest little garden center, formally Urban Gardener on Boulevard.
Cool display of Ornamental grasses and containers on a upturned galvanized tub
Plants are organized by care requirements as well as color categories, here is the selection of sun loving annuals in greens and whites

Got a variegated selection of Northern Sea Oats
Blue African Basil, wonderful for flower arrangements
After an inspiring morning at GardenHood, it was off to Dekalb Farmers Market, in addition to the wonderful cheeses, I got some cool looking purple watercress, a case of mangoes and a big bag of Valencia oranges for juicing. We worked up an appetite shopping among the crowd at the market and headed straight to FARMBURGER for lunch.
